17 gamers showed up and things got a little crazy and a lot of fun.
We started the night with a few of us playing FITS, or Fill In The Spaces. The game plays like a strategic Tetris. At least one of us got a negative score in each of the four rounds. It was fun, but brutal. Who knows who won, we were thankful to survive.
The kids were flushing scuzzies like crazy down Big John. I'm not sure if they played the game or not. Just flushing scuzzies is kind of fun.
Behind the FITS game there was a huge game of Loot. We'll have to get this out again when we have a Pirate Game Night. We can play Loot, Pirate's Cove, and Liar's Dice (featured in Pirates of the Carribean), Shipwrecked, Capt'n Bones Gold, Pirate King, Sword and Skull, Captain Hooks Ship Wrecked Game, Survive... ARGH! Too bad Talk Like a Pirate Day 2010 just passed. That would have been a great day to have it on, Matey.
Things got a little loud and crazy with Dancing Eggs. The kids had a great time (OK the adults too). If you want a good laugh tell a grown man to put a rubber egg under his chin, in his elbow, under his arm, and between his legs, then make him run around the table as fast as he can. Watch out Easter Brunch. Here comes Dancing Eggs.
Since the game has a double name (and plays fast) we decided to play Beep! Beep! twice. Like usual everyone was grabbing for the same cards, but things stayed civilized. The car was beeped only once in the games we played.
Can you play an entire game of Carcassonne with a four year old at a game night? The jury is still out on that one, but the evidence is pointing to the contrary.
Deciding to keep it frantic we decided to play Jurassic Jumble. It is so funny to let everyone continue playing long after the first bone is grabbed. For a few seconds there was only one player left and he couldn't figure out why no one was trading with him.
The night ended with a failed attempt at saving the castle. This was the first time we lost Castle Panic. I didn't know if it was possible, but we had a couple of monsters sneak in past the walls and destroy our towers early on. The super monsters waited for an onslaught late in the battle, and our barbarian was deep in the deck, so we were doomed when three monsters got passed the walls and took down our remaining towers. We had a fun time... losing.
OK. Next time either Small World or Cosmic Encounter is coming out first thing.
Now for something completely different... some of our favorite Dancing Egg poses and videos.
